Terms of Use
Last updated
Plain-language terms for using ReelXo. The short version: your reels are yours, use the templates freely, and respect the music licences.
1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms apply to the ReelXo app for Android and iPhone and to reelxo.tech. By downloading or using ReelXo you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. The App Store and Google Play terms also apply to how you download and install it.
2. Using the app
ReelXo is free to download. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for making videos for personal or commercial use.
You agree not to:
- copy, resell, rent or redistribute the app itself;
- reverse engineer it except where the law allows this despite this restriction;
- extract the templates, fonts or other built-in assets to sell or distribute them on their own;
- use the app to break the law or infringe anyone else's rights.
3. Your reels are yours
You keep all rights to the photos, videos, recordings and text you put into ReelXo, and to the reels you make. We don't claim ownership and, because your media stays on your phone, we don't receive a copy.
You are responsible for having the right to use what you put in a reel, including photos of other people and any audio you add. Please only post reels of people who are happy to appear in them.
4. Templates, fonts and sample media
You may use ReelXo's templates, animations and built-in fonts in the reels you export, including reels you publish or use for business, with no watermark and no credit required.
Templates show sample photos and clips (from Pexels) until you replace them with your own. Those samples are there to preview the design. They are provided under the Pexels licence, which does not allow, among other things, implying that people shown endorse a product or selling the unaltered images. We recommend publishing reels made with your own media.
5. Music from the in-app library
The music library is provided through Openverse and lists tracks under open licences: CC0, public domain, CC BY and CC BY-SA. Each track shows its licence and creator in the app. Those licences come from the creators, not from us, and you are responsible for following them:
- CC0 and public domain: no credit required.
- CC BY: credit the creator (for example in your caption).
- CC BY-SA: credit the creator and share adaptations under the same licence.
Platforms such as Instagram or YouTube can still run automated copyright checks on any audio. If you use music from another source, make sure you have the right to use it. See Creative Commons licences for the full terms.
6. Other services
ReelXo fetches templates and music from third-party services and hands finished reels to your phone's share sheet. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, WhatsApp and other apps you share to are not run by us, and their own terms apply to what you post there. Instagram, TikTok and YouTube are trademarks of their respective owners; ReelXo is not affiliated with them.
7. Updates and availability
We may update the app, add or remove templates and features, or change these terms. If we change the terms in a way that matters, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Some features (templates from the online catalogue and the music library) need an internet connection and depend on third-party services, so they may occasionally be unavailable.
8. No warranty
We work hard to make ReelXo reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise that it will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that it will meet every need. Keep your own copies of anything important; deleting the app deletes the projects stored in it.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, ReelXo and its makers are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, content or profits, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.
10. Stopping use
You can stop using ReelXo at any time by uninstalling it. If you seriously break these terms, your licence to use the app ends. The sections on your content, templates, music, warranty and liability continue to apply after that.
