Friendship Reel Templates
Friendship reel templates turn the photos already sitting in your camera roll into a 15 to 24 second reel for your best friend or your whole group. ReelXo has 11 of them, from slow photo walls in script type to fast, beat-cut nights out, and each one tells you exactly which shot goes in which slot.
They are made for birthday posts, farewells, friendship day, the trip recap you keep promising the group chat, or just because. How to choose
- Only have photos? Raise a Toast (22s, 8 shots), Kehna Alvida (24s, 8 shots) and Jutti Meri (19s, 8 shots) need no video at all. Raise a Toast scatters polaroids and types out a line, Kehna Alvida builds a photo wall under hollow caps then holds in script, and Jutti Meri starts as a black-and-white collage that turns to colour.
- For two people rather than a group, Blue is the shortest and simplest (15s, 5 shots, one of them a clip) with slow pans and a heartbeat zoom, and Backseat Besties (18s, 8 shots, 3 clips) is a pink-pop car singalong for two friends.
- For a group outing, pick by setting: Kabira Road Trip (18s, 6 shots) for a golden-hour trip, Campfire Crew (19s, 7 shots) for a weekend in the woods, Salt & Fur (20s, 8 shots) for a beach day with a dog that gets its own framed card, and After Dark (18s, 8 shots) for a neon night out.
- If you want words flashing on the beat, Sapphire (20s, 6 shots) has nine editable text lines including six flash words. If you want no text at all, Pajama Party and After Dark are designed to run without any.
What to shoot first
- Find one photo of just the two of you that you love. Raise a Toast, Kehna Alvida, Jutti Meri and Backseat Besties all open on a slot labelled "The two of you", and in Kehna Alvida it also closes the reel.
- Collect candids, not only poses. Several templates ask for it by name: "Laughing, not posing", "A candid nobody posed for", "Someone mid-laugh or mid-gasp".
- Get one frame with everyone in it. "The crew", "Squad shot" and "Last call" slots want the whole group in a single picture.
- Record a few short, loud clips on the night: dancing, singing along, someone being ridiculous. Backseat Besties, Pajama Party, After Dark, Campfire Crew and Salt & Fur each need 3 video clips.
- Pick an older photo for the flashback. Blue has a "Flashback" slot that turns an old photo into a memory, and Kehna Alvida turns "The quiet one" black and white.
- Decide your last frame before you start. Most friendship templates end on a slot called "Last frame" or similar, and it stays on screen longest.

Can I use a friendship reel template for free?

Yes. All 11 friendship templates are free in the ReelXo app on Android and iPhone, no account is needed, and exports have no watermark.
How many photos do I need for a friendship reel?

Between 5 and 8. Blue asks for 5, Sapphire and Kabira Road Trip ask for 6, Campfire Crew asks for 7, and the rest ask for 8. Some slots in the clip-based templates take short videos instead of photos.
Which friendship template works with only photos?

Raise a Toast, Kehna Alvida and Jutti Meri are built entirely from photos, 8 each, so you can make them from your camera roll without any video.
Can I write my friend's name in the reel?

Yes, in most of them. Raise a Toast has a "To whom" line, Salt & Fur has a line for your pet's name, and the others have titles and closing lines you type yourself. Pajama Party and After Dark are designed without text, though you can add captions in the timeline editor.
Can I change the song?

Yes. After applying a template you can swap the music for a royalty-free track from the in-app library or record a voiceover, then adjust anything else in the timeline editor.
