Birthday Reel Templates
Birthday reel templates turn party photos and a few short clips into an 18 or 19 second reel with the cake, the candles and the guests already given a place. ReelXo has 6, each designed for a different kind of birthday: a toddler, a kids' party, a pop-art celebration, a party with friends, and two milestone birthdays.
They are for the parent posting a little one's birthday, the friend making a surprise reel, or the family marking a 50th or 60th. Most have editable lines for the name, the age and a closing wish, and every one asks for a few clips of the moments that matter, like blowing out the candles.

Blush and rose-gold toddler birthday, a bento grid with a hero tile, balloons rising, a rose-gold number and falling confetti

Party Hats

Kids' party photo booth, two strips filled column by column under swinging bunting, then hat stickers on every cut

Cake & Crew

Instant photos scattered on a pink curtain around a gold party hat, then strobing gold glitter over the cut, no text

Cupcake Queen

Sixty & Golden
19s · 12 shots (3 clips)
Terracotta and gold milestone, three arched windows rising, gold balloons, a slow light sweep across every shot; no text
How to choose
- For a toddler or baby, Little Two (18s, 14 shots, 4 clips) is blush and rose-gold with a bento grid, rising balloons and slots for "Mum & baby" and "Dad & baby".
- For a kids' party, Party Hats (18s, 13 shots) fills two photo-booth strips under swinging bunting, then puts hat stickers on every cut.
- For a milestone, Golden Fifty (19s, 10 shots) is black and gold with a gradient-gold age and a keepsake card, while Sixty & Golden (19s, 12 shots) is terracotta and gold with three arched windows and no text.
- For a bright party with friends, Cupcake Queen (19s, 12 shots) is pop art on colour blocks with comic-shadow numbers, and Cake & Crew (18s, 14 shots) scatters instant photos on a pink curtain with gold glitter and no text.
- Fewest photos to collect: Golden Fifty needs 10. Most to collect: Little Two and Cake & Crew need 14.
What to shoot first
- Get one strong portrait of the birthday person on their own. It usually fills the biggest tile ("The star" in Golden Fifty, "Hero" in Little Two).
- Film the candles being blown out. Golden Fifty, Party Hats and Cupcake Queen each have a clip slot just for it.
- Photograph the cake before anyone cuts it, then again once it gets messy (Cake & Crew has an "Eating cake" slot: "Messy is good").
- Shoot the decorations and number balloons early, while they still look new.
- Grab a toast: one photo with glasses up and one short clip of it, for Golden Fifty and Sixty & Golden.
- For kids, get presents, party hats and silly faces. Party Hats asks for all three.
- Leave one quiet frame for the end: the table after, gifts on the floor, everyone on the couch.

Birthday reel template questions
Can I use a birthday reel template for free?
+
Yes. All 6 birthday templates are free in ReelXo on Android and iPhone, no account is needed, and exported reels have no watermark.
How many photos do I need for a birthday reel?
+
Between 10 and 14 shots. Golden Fifty asks for 10, Cupcake Queen and Sixty & Golden for 12, Party Hats for 13, and Little Two and Cake & Crew for 14. Three or four of those slots take short video clips.
Can I add the name and age?
+
Yes. Golden Fifty, Little Two, Party Hats and Cupcake Queen all have editable lines for the age and the name. Cake & Crew and Sixty & Golden are designed without text, though you can add captions in the timeline editor.
Which template is best for a 50th or 60th birthday?
+
Golden Fifty (black and gold, 10 shots) and Sixty & Golden (terracotta and gold, 12 shots) are the two milestone designs. The age is typed by you in Golden Fifty, so it works for any number.
Can I put a happy birthday song on it?
+
You can swap the template's music for a royalty-free track from the in-app library or record your own voiceover singing it.
